Join us in March for a two-day online directing workshop!
Led by long time acting teacher and prolific TIP director, Jonah Hagans, this workshop will focus on drawing clues from the playwright and converting the text into useful information to guide actors and designers to a completed product.
We will also examine "flash analysis", listing techniques, and how to analyze the author's intent to best service the story.
Participants will need to bring a script in which they are interested. The sky's the limit here! Musicals, classics, full-length, and short plays are welcome. We will need a digital copy of the script at least one week before the first session. Auditors/observers are also welcome to attend.
About the instructor: Jonah has been involved in theater for most of his life and has directed more than a dozen productions for TIP, including THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK, AVENUE Q, and most recently HAND TO GOD. His professional work includes feature films, network television, commercials, voiceover and narration, and stage work including over 10 years of national tours in both the US and Japan.
When: Saturday, March 12th (1-4:30pm) and Saturday, March 19th (1-4:30pm)
Where: Zoom. Participants will be emailed a link to the meeting.
Fee: ¥3000 total for both sessions
